Staff Accountant

• Record and apply incoming payments accurately to ensure cash activity is reflected correctly in the accounting records
• Maintain the general ledger by preparing, reviewing, and posting entries that support complete and reliable financial data
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including account analysis and preparation of supporting schedules
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly, investigate variances, and drive issues through to resolution
• Prepare journal entries and related documentation in accordance with accounting procedures and reporting timelines
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and identify inconsistencies that require follow-up or correction
• Support tax-related accounting tasks, including work connected to corporate tax and sales tax processes when needed

• At least 1 year of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and month-end close procedures
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching discrepancies independently
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to organize, analyze, and validate financial data efficiently
• High level of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and a disciplined approach to follow-through
• Investigative mindset with a sense of ownership when resolving accounting issues
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, or related tax accounting support is preferred
