Job Description:

Our client, a highly respected organization in the professional services industry, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization. Responsibilities include preparing financial records, assisting with month-end/year-end closings, ensuring GAAP compliance, and supporting budget preparations. Key qualifications include 2+ years of experience, proficiency in accounting software, knowledge of GAAP, and strong organizational and analytical skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Analyze financial data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Process accounts payable and receivable while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and audit schedules
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects or ad hoc financial analysis
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax preparation actions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of staff accounting experience, preferably in the professional services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) is preferred
  • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
  • Strong understanding of bank reconciliations and general ledger management
  • Experience with journal entries and month-end close procedures.

Nice to have:

  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs)
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.
