Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic insurance organization based in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting key financial initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team while advancing your career within the insurance industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and required reports in alignment with insurance regulatory guidelines
  • Analyze and compile financial data to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial reports
  • Perform account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local insurance regulations
  • Support external audits by providing documentation and detailed explanations as needed
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends and offering actionable insights
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Participate in special financial projects assigned by leadership to support organizational goals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and regulatory filing requirements
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and month-end close processes
  • Experience with general ledger management and creating journal entries
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and present financial data clearly
