We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic insurance organization based in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting key financial initiatives. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial statements and required reports in alignment with insurance regulatory guidelines
Analyze and compile financial data to ensure the accuracy and compliance of all financial reports
Perform account reconciliations to maintain accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting processes
Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local insurance regulations
Support external audits by providing documentation and detailed explanations as needed
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing financial trends and offering actionable insights
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Participate in special financial projects assigned by leadership to support organizational goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry
Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles and regulatory filing requirements
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Solid understanding of corporate tax, sales tax, and month-end close processes
Experience with general ledger management and creating journal entries
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and present financial data clearly
