Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our CPA firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with financial data and client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards in accounting practices.

Job Responsibility:

Verify the accuracy of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries
Review and assess accounting systems, recommending improvements to enhance controls and efficiency
Assist auditors by preparing financial reports and conducting in-depth data analysis
Audit financial statements and documents to ensure compliance with regulations
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and make necessary corrections
Conduct client site visits to gather and evaluate financial information
Ensure clients adhere to tax regulations and provide recommendations to improve compliance
Develop tools and metrics to monitor financial performance and controls
Evaluate corporate policies and suggest improvements where necessary
Perform cost and budget analyses to support decision-making

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience with attention to detail
Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger management
Experience in preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
