Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity with a growing organization in Southwest Utah. This role will support a variety of accounting functions and play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and comfortable working across multiple accounting disciplines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and post journal entries while supporting month-end close activities
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy
  • Review and validate accounting transactions for proper classification and coding
  • Record payroll and benefits-related accounting entries and assist with related reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset records and calculate monthly depreciation
  • Support project-based accounting activities and financial tracking
  • Generate customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable processes
  • Prepare reports and provide financial data to support business decisions and operational needs
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and internal control documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred
  • 2 plus years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting support
  • Experience with fixed assets and depreciation accounting
  • Familiarity with invoicing, accounts receivable, and project accounting activities
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
