We are looking for an entry-level Staff Accountant to join our team in Kansas City, Kansas. Job Responsibility

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for multiple grants, managing up to 70-100 grants simultaneously
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support grant-related decision-making
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for grant compliance and audits
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial processes
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Conduct financial variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline financial data management and reporting
  • Participate in internal meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills, particularly in managing grants
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • COVID-19 vaccination is required for this role

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure accuracy of customer information, including reconciling customer accounts
