We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of invoice handling, and supporting financial operations. Job Responsibility:
Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring proper coding to relevant departments, service lines, and cost centers
Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents while adhering to established approval workflows
Organize and execute weekly payment runs, including checks, credit cards, and other methods, while maintaining accurate accounts payable records
Reconcile vendor statements and promptly address any discrepancies to maintain strong vendor relationships
Prepare accounts payable aging reports, accruals, and supporting schedules to assist with month-end close processes
Create and submit purchase orders to key vendors, ensuring timely and efficient processing
Utilize accounting and inventory management systems, such as Sage Intacct, to streamline operations
Apply advanced Excel skills to analyze data effectively, including creating pivot tables and other functions
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice handling and payment reconciliation
Familiarity with accounting software and inventory management systems, particularly Sage Intacct
Proficiency in Excel, including advanced features such as pivot tables
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
Ability to manage high-volume transactions efficiently
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams
Knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices
