We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Camas, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks that contribute to the financial stability of our organization. This position offers an opportunity to handle critical financial processes while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll transactions
Conduct thorough reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial data
Monitor financial performance, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights to management
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulations
Provide documentation and explanations during internal and external audits
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Participate in the creation and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
Perform additional accounting-related tasks as needed to support organizational goals
Requirements:
Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Strong knowledge of journal entries and month-end close procedures
Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and QuickBooks
Competence in using Microsoft 365 Enterprise tools for financial analysis and reporting
Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to analyze financial data and communicate findings effectively
