We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Plano, Texas, where you will play a vital role in managing financial operations for a variety of projects. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise across multiple industries and accounting systems. You will work on diverse assignments, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting, while contributing to the success of dynamic and challenging projects.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare detailed journal entries and reconcile accounts, including cash, payroll, and prepaid expenses
Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses to support management reporting
Assist in the closing processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including preparing financial close workbooks
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and procedures
Manage fixed asset ledgers, including depreciation schedules and reconciliation
Perform intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy across accounts
Analyze and present financial data in a clear and concise format for decision-making purposes
Maintain capital lease schedules and oversee monthly payments
Participate in department-wide initiatives and special projects as needed
Support ad-hoc reporting requests to address specific business needs
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including journal entries and reconciliations
Proficiency in using large accounting software packages and strong Microsoft Excel skills
Solid understanding of balance sheet account reconciliations and month-end close activities
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and work effectively in diverse industries
Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
Excellent organizational and communication abilities to manage multiple priorities
Willingness to take on challenging assignments and contribute to innovative solutions
