Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will be responsible for managing key accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment within the construction industry.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely reporting
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy
Review and maintain financial data, ensuring all supporting documentation is properly organized
Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including timely invoicing and payment tracking
Help develop financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with applicable standards
Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation
Participate in budget planning and perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles in all financial transactions

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Hands-on experience with accounting software and proficiency in Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members
Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax returns
Experience with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and joint interest billing
Previous exposure to corporate accounting processes and reporting
