We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations and financial analysis for a manufacturing division in Warminster, Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, contributing to month-end close activities, and helping ensure inventory and cost data are reported reliably. The position also partners with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and performance analysis to support sound business decisions.
Job Responsibility:
Manage day-to-day general and cost accounting activities in alignment with company policies and established financial procedures
Prepare journal entries, complete account and bank reconciliations, and support the monthly close process by meeting reporting deadlines
Review manufacturing cost performance, investigate variances, and recommend actions to improve accuracy and operational results
Maintain inventory accounting controls through cycle counts, physical counts, valuation reviews, and cost-related analysis
Update and monitor standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead using relevant operational and market data
Act as a key resource for financial and cost accounting processes within the division’s accounting systems and related interfaces
Oversee fixed asset accounting, track capital spending activity, and maintain supporting records for asset transactions
Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, balance sheet reviews, budgeting, forecasting, and management analysis
Support tax-related accounting needs and help sustain internal controls that comply with applicable accounting standards and corporate requirements
Analyze sales, margins, and profitability trends against budget and prior periods to highlight risks and opportunities
Requirements:
At least 3 years of accounting experience, including exposure to general ledger activity, journal entries, and month-end close
Background in manufacturing accounting with knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
Experience supporting fixed assets, capital expenditure tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations
Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related accounting support responsibilities
Understanding of internal control frameworks and compliance requirements, including SOX or J-SOX environments
Knowledge of IFRS and broader financial reporting standards applicable to a corporate setting
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results, identify issues, and communicate findings clearly
