Job Description

Our client, a well-established and growing company in the South Bay/Torrance area, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or a professional with 2+ years of experience who wants to build a long-term career in accounting and gain hands-on exposure to all areas of corporate finance. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the company’s accounting operations, including preparing and consolidating financial statements, reconciling accounts, assisting with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and support ongoing process improvements. This position offers a chance to grow your technical skills, learn from experienced mentors, and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Support audits, budgets, and forecasts
  • Contribute to automation and process improvement projects
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or recent grad with strong internship experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong time management skills preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
  • Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired
