Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hands-on, day to day accounting, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, tax filings, and all other related accounting responsibilities and special projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Communicate with accounting team as well as work closely with Supervisors and Managers to ensure timely and thorough engagements
  • Prepare reports that address internal and external audit requirements
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling and preparing financial statements and adjusting entries
  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of processes and timeliness of deliverables
  • Assist team with ad-hoc assignments and special projects
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Detailed oriented and capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and manage time effectively

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
  • CPA preferred or CPA candidate
  • 2-4 years of experience in a CPA firm
  • Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products (Preferred)
  • Experience with General Ledger write-ups
  • Experience in small business, tax preparation of individual and various entity tax returns, including partnerships, corporations, trusts, multi state returns, and extensions
  • Ability to commute/relocate: White Plains, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration

Nice to have

  • CPA preferred or CPA candidate
  • Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products (Preferred)
