Job Description:

Our client, a leader in connectivity solutions, is looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant/Payroll specialist to join their team in the Metuchen, New Jersey area. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountants to support various financial activities and payroll functions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to facilitate month-end close processes and ensure timely completion
  • Reconcile accounts and analyze financial data to maintain accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to standards
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payroll distribution
  • Assist with corporate tax filings, including sales tax and corporate tax returns
  • Contribute to audit preparation and support internal control measures
  • Analyze financial reports and provide insights to aid in decision-making processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations at all times
  • Participate in special financial projects as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger maintenance
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and related systems
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
