Job Description:

Responsible for operating and monitoring steam sterilization equipment (autoclaves) to thoroughly clean, decontaminate, assemble, package, and sterilize medical instruments and supplies, ensuring their safe and hygienic use in a healthcare setting, while strictly adhering to established infection control protocols and quality standards during varying shifts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system's operation
  • Recording in logs various aspects of the system's operation
  • Keeping the machinery and equipment of the system in good operating order
  • Maintaining the system or systems
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on a wide variety of equipment
  • Performs routine investigation rounds wearing proper PPE and RPE, such as a PAPR
  • Required to work weekends and holidays

Requirements:

  • High School
  • 1 years Related experience
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions
