At Trimble, we are transforming the way the world works by delivering technology solutions that connect the physical and digital worlds. Our Cloud Operations team is at the heart of this mission, ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the platforms our customers depend on every day. We are looking for an SRE / DevOps Engineer to join our team and take ownership of key areas of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will manage and maintain critical customer-facing systems, drive automation initiatives, and actively participate in incident management. As we accelerate our migration to Kubernetes and container-based architectures, you will play a hands-on role in building, deploying, and operating containerized workloads on AWS EKS. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will grow your expertise across infrastructure as code, container orchestration, monitoring, and cloud technologies. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to step into a role with real ownership and a clear path to senior-level engineering. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if you do not meet every qualification listed below. If you are passionate about cloud infrastructure and eager to learn, we want to hear from you.
Job Responsibility
Own and maintain AWS-based components through Infrastructure as Code and automation (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Manage critical customer-facing systems with responsibility for high-availability and reliability
Write and maintain automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to improve operational efficiency
Drive improvements to cloud elasticity, fault tolerance, and cost optimization strategies
Contribute to the planning, design, and deployment of cloud technologies
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads running on Kubernetes (EKS) and ECS as the team accelerates its migration to container-based architectures
Build and maintain Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and deployment pipelines for application services
Monitor cluster health, resource utilization, and pod scheduling
respond to and resolve container orchestration issues
Collaborate with development teams on containerizing applications, defining resource requests/limits, health checks, and readiness probes
Contribute to the evolution of our container platform strategy including namespace management, RBAC policies, and secrets management
Own day-to-day operations including measuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting of production systems across both traditional and containerized environments
Manage and improve monitoring alerts, write SOPs, and introduce new monitoring triggers to shift from reactive to proactive operations
Build and maintain monitoring dashboards for DEV/OPS/Support teams, including Kubernetes cluster and workload metrics
Ensure best practices are implemented across Cloud Operations processes and procedures
Interface with different departments regarding deployments across all environments with minimal supervision
Collaborate with product development teams to engineer solutions and solve technical challenges
Participate in a shared on-call rotation (typically one week every 4-6 weeks) with a mindset of automating and improving
Requirements
3-5 years of IT experience with at least 2 years focused on AWS cloud infrastructure and operations
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), including the ability to manage and troubleshoot production container workloads
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation
Background in supporting both Linux and Windows environments and a solid understanding of cloud networking
Experience with monitoring solutions (New Relic, PagerDuty, AWS CloudWatch, Splunk)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field – or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
Experience with Helm charts, Kubernetes networking, and observability tools like Prometheus or Grafana
Exposure to GitOps workflows and configuration management tools like Ansible
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect or Kubernetes specialty)
Familiarity with security frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001) or ITIL practices
