Sr. Customer Service Representative

• Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding products, provide quotes, and handle order entry
• Place customer orders via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk in (counter sales)
• Influence gross profit through negotiating sale and purchase prices within parameters
• May adjust non-contract customer pricing based on competition while maximizing profit
• Build customer relationships to drive repeat business and drive process improvements
• Order items to maintain appropriate inventory levels for customers
• May place orders without approval for orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order
• Source products in branch inventory, distribution center inventory, or supplier inventory
• Determine the most cost-effective shipping method for customer orders
• Partner with Account Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction
• Expedite backorders
• May pull inventory and prepare orders for shipment
• May handle customer returns
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Zero to three years of related experience or equivalent combination
• Reliability, organization, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and listening
• Ability to multi-task and time management skills
• Moderate computer skills, including information processing, communicating via email, using business systems, and searching for products on the internet
• Product knowledge is preferred
