Job Description:

The Sr. Abinitio Developer will be responsible for executing and driving application design and development efforts as a Development Lead. This role requires deep expertise in Ab Initio, Oracle SQL, data engineering, and proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. Responsibilities include contributing to complex application design, troubleshooting code, ensuring compliance with performance requirements, and optimizing development processes.

Job Responsibility:

Accountable for executing and driving mid-size feature application design and development efforts to completion
Serving as a development lead on medium-scale projects
Supporting the execution of larger efforts
Analyze and troubleshoot coding, application performance and design challenges
Research root cause of development and performance concerns as well as resolution of defects
Understand engineering needs including those to build, maintain, and operate the system through all phases of its life
Participate in design discussions as a Development Lead
Influence the way an application is designed and developed
Streamline and eliminate excess processes
Share knowledge with the team and demonstrate advanced knowledge through industry certifications
Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and mitigate issues/risks

Requirements:

7 - 12 years in a product development/product management environment
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Data driven and results-oriented
Proficient in Ab Initio, Oracle SQL Developer, Data warehousing
Experience delivering with an agile methodology
Experience in affecting large culture change
Experience leading infrastructure programs
Skilled at working with third party service providers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
Proficient in one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering such as Python, Java or Scala
Proficiency in working with relational databases such as Oracle and using SQL for data querying, transformation and manipulation
Familiarity with open-source data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Beam, Flink, Trino, Airflow, DBT)

Nice to have:

Prior experience of Ab Initio
Understanding of data parallelism, associated partitioning strategies and key components in the GDE
