The Warehouse Senior Lead helps coordinate the shipping/receiving, warehousing, and related support activities to assure compliance with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and on-time completion of shipping and receiving product schedules. Works closely with other departments, such as Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, Warehouse, and Maintenance, as needed. This position ensures adherence to policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions and support of cost-control efforts, this role identifies and helps resolve operations issues.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure a safe and secure environment for all associates by heightening safety awareness through feedback of safe working techniques and housekeeping practices
Ensures effective training of employees in the areas of safety, quality, efficient operations, and procedural compliance
Aids in the development of an effective, well-skilled staff
Coordinates and manages staffing requirements across shipping and receiving
Ensures all loads are shipped and received per Michael Angelo's standards (receiving inspections, pre-load inspections, temperatures, safety practices)
Maintains accurate inventory levels and minimizes OS & Ds
Communicates with carrier representatives for all information pertaining to scheduled loads prior to loading and communicates the daily inbound schedule and work plan for the following day
Ensures prep and start up items for the following day are staged and verified for the following day's production per the production schedule and ensures timely delivery to the production lines
Develops a course of action to ensure trucks are loaded at assigned appointment times according to outbound schedule
Ensures needed product is produced for scheduled loads prior to loading
Uses carrier information to establish course of action for late arrivals and pre-loads
Resolves driver issues and conflicts
Communicates shortage issues with Warehouse Manager
Communicates all shipping and receiving issues to Warehouse Manager
Follows all Company rules, including, but not limited to: SOPs, GMPs, Safety, PPE, and all rules stipulated by the USDA and FDA
Performs other related duties and special assignments as required
Requirements:
1+ years of stand-up forklift experience
Computer skills and knowledge of software programs (Microsoft Suite – Excel, SAP, etc.)
WMS Experience (SAP, JUMP, etc.)
Strong problem-solving, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Proven team leadership and team-building skills and experience
Ability to interact with employees, customers, and vendors in a positive and professional manner
Proven ability to meet deadlines and a strong attention to detail
