Job Description:

Our client, located in Washington, DC, is currently in need of a Sr VMware Consultant for a 20 month contract. The consultant will work onsite with some remote in support of the implementation and configuration of VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN software; and Dell PowerFlex and VxRail hardware.

Job Responsibility:

  • VMware Platform Management – Install, configure, and support vSphere (8.x), NSX T/NSX V, vSAN, and related services
  • Hyper Converged Systems – Experience with Dell VxRail and PowerFlex clusters (preferred), including capacity planning, health monitoring, and firmware upgrades
  • Storage Operations – Manage block and file storage solutions (Dell/EMC preferred), perform LUN provisioning, file system administration, and data protection tasks
  • Network Integration – Configure and maintain top of rack (ToR) switches, VLANs, and NA IP routing required for virtual networking and storage traffic
  • Automation & Scripting – Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks (preferred) for provisioning, patching, and compliance tasks
  • Security & Hardening – Apply DISA STIGs and vendor specific hardening guides to both hardware and software components
  • conduct regular vulnerability scans and remediation
  • Documentation & Collaboration – Produce clear run books, change control records, and knowledge base articles
  • partner with cross functional teams (application, security, networking) to resolve incidents and implement projects

Requirements:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to work onsite in DC
  • Strong VMware and HCI experience
  • Experience implementing STIGs from IA

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Dell VxRail and PowerFlex clusters
  • Experience with Ansible playbooks
