Job Description:

As the first Sr. Technical Recruiter at Serval, you’ll build and own our talent acquisition strategy from the ground up, focusing primarily on engineering roles. You’ll design and execute scrappy, high-impact recruiting initiatives that help us scale quickly while maintaining a high talent bar. This role is perfect for someone who’s excited to combine technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and creativity to grow our team at a high-energy startup. You’ll be a crucial partner across the organization, collaborating closely with engineering leads to understand hiring needs, identify top-tier talent, and deliver a delightful candidate experience. We’re looking for a builder who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and pioneer new approaches to hiring.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design & Implement Hiring Strategies: Develop creative sourcing strategies, manage the full-cycle recruiting process, and iterate based on data to consistently meet hiring goals
  • Understand Hiring Needs: Partner with engineering leaders to create accurate role definitions, set clear expectations, and prioritize requisitions
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with the broader team to ensure alignment on hiring goals, champion best practices, and share insights that inform overall talent strategy
  • Build & Maintain Recruiting Infrastructure: Select and integrate tools (ATS, sourcing platforms, etc.) that enable a seamless, data-driven recruiting process
  • Champion Data-Driven Hiring: Track and report key metrics to inform decision-making, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve the candidate experience
  • Stay Ahead of Recruiting Trends: Keep a pulse on emerging tools, platforms, and best practices to attract world-class engineering talent in a competitive market

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience at a fast-paced environment or B2B SaaS company, ideally with exposure to full-cycle recruiting
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with engineering roles, tech stacks, and the ability to engage meaningfully with technical candidates
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in building pipelines, closing top 1% engineering candidates, and managing multiple requisitions simultaneously
  • Self-Motivated & Adaptable: Ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment—able to pivot quickly while remaining laser-focused on hiring goals
  • Strong Communication Skills: Adept at articulating role requirements and company vision to candidates, and translating complex feedback into clear action items
  • Analytical Mindset: Comfortable using metrics to drive insights, identify trends, and refine recruiting strategies

Nice to have:

Previous startup experience as an early technical recruiter
