Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis in Kirkland, Washington. In this role, you will assist with the preparation and review of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. This position focuses primarily on individual tax returns, with some business-related filings included. This is a very part time role that could be done in the evenings or weekends. This also can be a fully remote role.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare individual tax returns (1040s) and manage business-related filings, including S-Corps and Schedule C forms
  • Conduct thorough reviews of completed tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Finalize tax files by addressing outstanding issues and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place
  • Utilize Drake Tax Software for efficient and accurate tax preparation
  • Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and clarify tax-related inquiries
  • Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations to provide the highest level of service
  • Handle a mix of individual and business tax filings, prioritizing workload effectively
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict standards of accuracy and integrity in all tax-related matters

Requirements

  • Proven experience in tax preparation, with a strong focus on individual and business tax returns
  • Familiarity with Drake Tax Software for completing and reviewing tax filings
  • Solid understanding of tax laws and regulations, including knowledge of S-Corps and Schedule C filings
  • Certification as an Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent experience in tax preparation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and addressing their concerns
  • Dedication to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all tax-related work
