Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to join our team in Loveland, Colorado. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing various tax functions, including sales/use tax, property tax, and income tax. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with the corporate tax team while contributing to general ledger responsibilities.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all aspects of sales/use tax, property tax, and income tax compliance for the organization
  • Collaborate with the corporate tax team to address local tax requirements and ensure adherence to regulations
  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and multi-state tax returns to maintain compliance
  • Perform tax-related accounting tasks and contribute to general ledger activities
  • Utilize Vertex software to ensure accurate tax calculations and reporting
  • Research and resolve tax-related issues, including indirect and local tax compliance
  • Provide support during audits and assist in the preparation of necessary documentation
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local tax laws to maintain compliance and identify opportunities
  • Ensure timely filing of all tax returns and payments
  • Partner with other departments to address cross-functional tax matters

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting, including sales/use, property, and income tax
  • Proficiency in preparing individual, corporate, and multi-state tax returns
  • Familiarity with Vertex software for sales and use tax calculations
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with indirect and local tax compliance processes
  • Ability to manage tax-related general ledger tasks effectively
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in tax preparation and reporting
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams and present findings
