Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Sr. Tax Accountant to support tax preparation and filing processes for individual and corporate clients. This contract position is based in Palmdale, California, and offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in tax compliance and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation, including S-Corp and C-Corp returns, and experience using Lacerte software.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations
  • Handle tax preparation tasks for S-Corp and C-Corp clients, providing accurate and timely submissions
  • Utilize Lacerte software to streamline tax filing processes and maintain client records
  • Manage sales and use tax filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to state and local requirements
  • Conduct thorough reviews of tax documents to identify discrepancies and resolve issues
  • Provide expert guidance on tax-related matters to clients, addressing inquiries and offering solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulatory changes to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to gather necessary financial information for tax preparation
  • Identify opportunities for tax savings and assist clients in implementing strategies
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive financial data throughout the preparation process

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in tax preparation, including individual, S-Corp, and C-Corp returns
  • Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations
  • Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software for filing and preparation
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax laws and compliance requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
  • Effective communication skills for client consultations and team collaboration
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
