The Supervisor II, Facilities & Maintenance’s primary responsibility is to maintain, improve and control the safe and efficient function of the plant manufacturing and facilities equipment; to establish and manage preventative maintenance systems, schedules, and documentation and to manage all programs pertaining to the areas of safety, quality, cost, and delivery within the department. The Maintenance Supervisor ensures strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and cGMP's in a Medical Device Manufacturing facility.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure a safe work environment is maintained through adherence to safety guidelines and policies
Responsible for supervision and direction of maintenance and facilities activities for a two (2) shift production schedule
Develop, implement and manage predictive and preventive maintenance program to meet the requirements of FDA 21 CFR Part 820
Document development work including writing procedures, preventive maintenance work order instruction, reports, and validation protocols
Support the site CAPA/NCR system, by owning or supporting investigations
Responsible for overseeing contract services including cleaning, security, pest control, and outsourced facilities preventative maintenance activities
Organize, review, prioritize, and schedule daily Corrective Maintenance (CM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) work
Monitor and report equipment OEE performance and reliability data and identify any possible trending
Evaluate downtime and spare consumption data
Supervise the maintenance and modification of new and existing manufacturing
Develop, implement and manage spare parts in the CMMS
Administer the manufacturing equipment expenditures, create and issue purchase orders, and forecast expenses
Plan and supervise all the activities from the maintenance group and other areas related to the December break
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
Partners with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering
Ensures team’s compliance with Baxter Healthcare department policies and laws
Manage employees and team performance

train or provide adequate training for employees
Coordinate and manage the duties of maintenance personnel
Develop job skills and abilities of all maintenance personnel
Manage and ensure effective employee/labor relations
Interview, hire and terminate employees
Requirements:
2-year degree or equivalent training/experience required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Must have experience leading a team
Be familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts
Understand the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment that support a complex manufacturing plant
Have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment, using blueprints, equipment manuals, specifications, standard operating procedures
Have working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and their disposal, OSHA, EPA, and FDA requirements
Must have very strong verbal and written communication skills, documentation practices (cGDPs)
Must be able to update procedures and modify processes to simplify their complexity and improve efficiency
