About the Role The Senior Strategy & Planning Associate will be a core member of the ANZ Restaurants Strategy & Planning (S&P) team, partnering with country leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to shape and execute the strategy for Uber Eats Restaurants in Australia & New Zealand. You will combine deep analytical rigour, strategic thinking, and strong stakeholder management to identify growth opportunities, improve marketplace and P&L performance, and ensure we are executing against our most important priorities.
Job Responsibility:
Develop a deep understanding of the ANZ Restaurants business, including growth drivers, unit economics, and competitive dynamics
Own structured deep‑dive analyses (e.g. city, segment, product, or initiative) to size opportunities, diagnose issues, and recommend clear actions
Build business cases and scenario models to inform strategic decisions on investments, trade‑offs, and prioritisation
Own market intelligence for ANZ Restaurants Delivery – tracking competitive moves, category and customer trends, and external signals
Identify, size, and incubate new growth bets (e.g. new segments, products, or models)
Support and co‑lead annual and semi‑annual strategic and financial planning cycles for ANZ Restaurants (targets, OKRs, key bets)
Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track performance against plan (growth, CP, profitability, HC, key initiative metrics) and surface risks/upsides early
Run or contribute to key governance rhythms (e.g. WBRs, MBRs, leadership reviews)
Lead end‑to‑end strategic projects (0→1 and scale‑up)
Partner closely with Central Ops, Local Ops, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Finance, Product, Policy & Legal to land cross‑functional initiatives
Translate global strategies into locally relevant plans for ANZ
Act as a trusted thought partner to ANZ leadership
Drive alignment across senior stakeholders
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, operations, investment banking, business analytics, or S&P‑type roles in high‑growth environments
Demonstrated ability to turn data into insight and action – from framing the right questions, to structuring analysis, to landing clear recommendations
Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and comfort working with large datasets and financial / operational models
Experience leading cross‑functional projects end‑to‑end, with clear impact on growth, efficiency, or profitability
Excellent communication and storytelling skills – able to synthesise complexity, write crisp docs, and present to senior audiences
Strong planning and organisation, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast‑moving environment
High ownership, bias to action, and comfort with ambiguity
Nice to have:
Experience in tech, marketplaces, food delivery, retail, or consumer internet businesses
Working proficiency in SQL (or strong appetite to learn quickly)
Prior experience in ANZ markets or similarly developed, competitive markets
Experience influencing decisions without formal authority in a matrixed regional/global organisation
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI/ML-powered tools (e.g. Claude, Gemini, internal automation or analytics copilots) to speed up analysis, improve decision quality, and automate routine workflows
