Job Description

Merchants are at the heart of the Uber Eats experience, shaping the quality, variety, and reliability of what customers enjoy on our platform. Uber Eats Japan is now seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded individual to join as a Sr. Strategy & Operations Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively designing and managing initiatives across the entire spectrum of merchant lifecycle—driving better merchant selection, performance, and engagement.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze data, synthesize insights, and distill key takeaways to inform critical business actions and decision-making
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics, building intuitive dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into business health and guide leadership decisions
  • Translate merchant strategy into execution by designing and implementing operational initiatives that enhance merchant reliability, engagement, and overall experience
  • Lead workstreams with relevant cross-functional partners (e.g., Sales, Operations, Legal) by aligning on priorities and driving key critical initiatives forward

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Strategy, Operations, Consulting, High-Growth Tech or related fields
  • Problem-solver
  • ability to tackle ambiguous problems logically using structured, data-driven approaches
  • Strong analytical abilities, including proficiency in SQL and data analysis to inform decision-making
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in business-level Japanese
  • Advanced SQL, automation and modelling a plus
