Our Operations teams work where Uber's technology meets the real world. We are the local eyes on the ground, owning country-specific business outcomes and bridging our overall business strategy with local needs. The landscape of platform work is changing. While Uber Eats has traditionally operated via an independent contractor (IC) model, new business structures—ranging from subcontracting to third-party 'fleets' and staffing agencies—are becoming central to our strategy. Transitioning to these models fundamentally changes our business dynamics. When couriers are compensated hourly rather than per trip, operational efficiency becomes our primary lever for cost management. This requires robust scheduling and performance management systems. Conversely, these models unlock significant opportunities: we gain greater control over service quality, the ability to negotiate strict SLAs, and the power to mandate specific vehicle mixes. As a part of this brand-new central initiative, you will be the co-architect of our scheduling ecosystem. Your mission is to ensure we have 'the right person, in the right vehicle, at the right time'—minimizing expensive idle time while maximizing service reliability.
