Robert Half is currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting expert with a strong background in financial processes and systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, and supporting corporate financial objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are properly recorded
  • Prepare and post journal entries to support accounting operations
  • Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to align internal records with external statements
  • Support financial processes related to mergers and acquisitions
  • Utilize NetSuite and other accounting software to manage financial operations
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting to guide business planning
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management
  • Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions is highly desirable
  • Advanced skills in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to perform financial analysis and present findings effectively
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting practices
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 4+ years of experience
