Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with a strong background in Mainframe COBOL to join our dynamic team at TechM Pune Sharda. The ideal candidate will have 2 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on maintaining and enhancing legacy systems. You will play a crucial role in delivering high quality software solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Mainframe COBOL, Smart Comm
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and design software solutions
  • Debug and troubleshoot existing applications to improve performance and reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development
  • Document software specifications, processes, and procedures
  • Provide technical support and training to junior developers and team members
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to mainframe development

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Mainframe COBOL programming
  • Experience with JCL (Job Control Language) and DB2 databases
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • Ability to analyze and optimize existing code for performance improvements
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 2 5 years of relevant work experience in software development, specifically with Mainframe COBOL
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with other programming languages such as Java or C#
