We are looking for an experienced Sr. Sales and Use Tax Analyst to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations, identifying process improvements, and collaborating across departments to optimize tax strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate tax compliance and a keen ability to manage tax processes effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Evaluate and review sales and use tax processes to ensure adherence to state and local tax regulations
Collaborate with various teams to develop and implement tax strategies that improve financial performance
Reconcile indirect tax accounts monthly, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accurate tax postings
Work alongside data and technology teams to enhance reconciliation tools and improve tax-related processes
Prepare and review monthly journal entries related to indirect taxes
Monitor, refine, and document controls within the indirect tax function, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Identify process gaps and implement solutions to strengthen the indirect tax framework
Handle the preparation and review of indirect tax filings, including Canadian tax returns and recovery assessments
Support state sales and use tax audits, ensuring compliance and resolving audit-related issues
Assist with additional tax projects related to indirect taxes as assigned
Requirements:
Proven experience in corporate tax compliance, particularly in sales and use tax
Strong understanding of indirect tax regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley controls
Proficiency in preparing and reviewing tax reconciliations and journal entries
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance tax processes
Familiarity with Canadian tax filings and recovery reviews
Experience managing state sales and use tax audits
Skilled in identifying process inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions
Advanced knowledge of tax-related data tools and technologies
