Job Description

Our client is looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations for multi-unit housing properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting, proficiency in Yardi software, and advanced skills in Excel.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage property accounting tasks, including maintaining accurate financial records for multi-unit housing properties
  • Perform month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Conduct regular account reconciliations, including bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Utilize Yardi software to oversee property-level financial data and reporting
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively
  • Collaborate with property management teams to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
  • Monitor accrual accounting processes to ensure proper expense tracking
  • Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making
  • Maintain adherence to internal controls and accounting policies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in property accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in Yardi software for property management and accounting
  • Strong understanding of general ledger functions and journal entries
  • Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas
  • Experience with month-end close processes and accrual accounting
  • Ability to perform detailed account reconciliations, including cash and bank reconciliations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with teams
