We are looking for an experienced Sr. Property Accountant to join a real estate property and facilities management team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and brings a strong foundation in property accounting operations. The role will contribute to core accounting activities, improve financial processes, and support accurate reporting across a diverse property portfolio.
Job Responsibility:
Manage day-to-day accounting activities for assigned properties, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule
Prepare cash deposit records, post journal entries, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
Contribute to month-end close tasks, including expense review, accrual support, and account analysis
Review depreciation activity and help maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation schedules
Assist with common area maintenance and other property-related reconciliations, while supporting audit, tax, and insurance reporting needs
Work across multiple legal entities and property accounts, maintaining organized records and consistent accounting practices
Partner with team members to strengthen workflows, document procedures, and improve operational efficiency
Support process enhancement initiatives, including accounting automation efforts and system-related improvements
Provide guidance and day-to-day support to colleagues by sharing knowledge and encouraging best practices within the accounting team
Requirements:
5+ years of accounting experience, including substantial hands-on work in property accounting
Proven background in a multi-entity accounting environment within real estate or property management
Required experience using Yardi
proficiency with the platform is essential for success in this role
Strong Excel capabilities, including the ability to analyze data, reconcile accounts, and support reporting
Solid understanding of month-end close, accrual accounting, general ledger activity, and expense reporting
Experience preparing or reviewing depreciation entries and maintaining depreciation schedules
Familiarity with CAM reconciliations, audit support activities, and other property-related accounting functions
