The core team leader leads cross-functional activities supporting lifecycle management, compliance, and continuous improvement of Baxter's key platforms. This role operates at the Senior Program Manager level. It ensures sustained product performance, regulatory compliance, cost optimization, and timely changes in a highly regulated medical device environment.
Job Responsibility
Lead R&D programs, including new product development, build changes, process improvements, supplier changes, and obsolescence mitigation within the Infusion Therapies and Technologies (ITT)
Chair core team governance and drive decision-making cadence
own blocking issue path and decision log
Run operating mechanisms (core team cadence, risk reviews, executive critical issues) and trigger critical issues based on defined thresholds
Establish governance structures during initiation and ensure disciplined execution through forums and detailed decisions
Own the coordinated program plan, schedule, scope, budget, and risk management for sustaining activities
Build and maintain a coordinated, dependency-linked detailed plan
define achievements and drive critical path visibility
Prioritize sustaining initiatives aligned with safety, compliance, business continuity, cost, and customer impact
Guarantee identification and communication of project risks, devise risk plans, and guide teams in the proactive handling of risk strategies
Communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and key collaborators
Own budget forecasting, variance analysis, and transparent financial reporting cadence to leadership
Support long-term product roadmap planning, including end-of-life and transition strategies
Drive continuous improvement in sustaining processes, governance, and execution efficiency
Engage with external partners and vendors
Mentor core team members on operating mechanisms and PM field
guide junior PMs to build PM capability
Lead structured retrospectives and drive lessons learned into standard work and governance improvements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years total combined experience or Master's degree with 8+ years
6+ years of experience in project management
Proven ability to drive cross-functional global teams within electromechanical medical devices
Understanding of medical device software development and validation
Demonstrated achievement in handling complex projects within scope, budget, and timeline
Proficient in risk management, problem-solving, and data-driven decision making
Effective communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate within a distributed team to comprehend project requests and transform requirements into final project deliverables
