Job Description

As a Senior Product Manager in Payroll AI, you’ll be part of the team that leads strategy and delivery of AI-powered features and skills for Payroll Agent that are developed to be understood, trusted, and adopted by customers at global scale. You’ll own projects across the Payroll Agent lifecycle—from defining the customer problem and value proposition, to shaping the platforms and frameworks that enable Workday teams to bring agent skills to market quickly and consistently. Working closely with machine learning, engineering, numerous frameworks teams, and payroll domain product leaders, you’ll turn emerging AI capabilities into clear product narratives, scalable solutions, and measurable customer impact. This role calls for strong product judgment, a bias for execution, and deep curiosity about how AI can be translated into differentiated experiences that drive real business outcomes with continued interest in Payroll and Workday’s products. You’ll help define how Workday positions, builds, and delivers next-generation Payroll with AI and agents—ensuring innovation lands with clarity, credibility, and purpose. Lead functional and technical discussions with key internal and external partners / customers.

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • Experience and interest in payroll
  • Experience with Workday products
  • Experience with AI and/or Agents
  • 5+ years proven experience with SaaS/B2B
  • Technically proficient with AI and LLM-powered technology
  • Deeply empathetic customer advocate with a history of redefining the payroll experience using AI-powered solutions
  • Experience leading stakeholders and working collaboratively and cross functionally with a product portfolio
  • Experience collaborating with teammates across timezones
  • Experience bringing new payroll product offerings to market
  • Steadfast focus on user-centric design, data, research, and well-honed judgment
  • A strong bias for action and the ability to make high-stakes decisions effectively in the face of ambiguity
  • Ability to operate successfully across multiple functions, influence senior executives and peers alike, and mediate across various partners
  • Good communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience at AI centric or data centric companies a plus
