In this role, you'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Leadership, playing a meaningful part in shaping how users engage with Chalkboard every single day.

  • Partner cross-functionally to rapidly test, iterate, and refine features that drive engagement, retention, and revenue
  • Lead product discovery alongside Product and Engineering to deeply understand user behavior, motivations, and friction points
  • Translate insights into thoughtful UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Continuously refine and evolve our design system
  • Design for mobile-first experiences
  • Take ownership of major product initiatives and drive them from concept to launch
  • Present work clearly and confidently
  • Balance speed and craft
  • Raise the bar for product quality and user experience

  • Design experiments in partnership with Growth to optimize onboarding, engagement loops, and monetization surfaces
  • Leverage user research, data, and testing to inform decisions
  • Thrive in ambiguity and adapt quickly
  • Collaborate daily with engineers
  • Partner with Growth and Marketing
  • Incorporate feedback openly
  • Contribute to a strong, transparent design culture

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing consumer-facing digital products (mobile experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product thinking — from UX strategy to polished UI
  • Fluency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering in fast-paced environments
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and visual hierarchy
  • Ability to translate complex systems into simple, intuitive user flows

Nice to have

  • Experience designing for gaming, sports, betting, DFS, or other high-engagement consumer products
  • Experience working at an early-stage or high-growth startup
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and A/B testing
  • Experience contributing to or building scalable design systems

What we offer

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage starting within 30 days, with the majority of premiums covered by Chalkboard
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Lunch on us everyday with a corporate DoorDash account
  • Refuel in the office with protein shakes, energy drinks, and a snack buffet
  • Flexible time off policy, plus 10 company holidays, WFH during the holidays

You should be fluent enough with AI to use it as a genuine force multiplier at every stage of your work, while knowing when the judgment, craft, and accountability need to be yours
