Job Description:

You are a Senior Principal Engineer who is both AI-native and relentlessly product-minded. You turn ambiguous, cross-functional opportunities into clear technical direction, and then you prove the path by building. You care about the flagship experiences you ship, and you obsess over the shared “paved highway” that makes it easy for many teams to ship safe, reliable AI over and over again.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own outcomes end-to-end
  • Define the AI technical direction
  • Make build-versus-buy decisions
  • Lead by implementation
  • Create the paved highway
  • Raise the bar across Engineering and Product

Requirements:

  • Foundational AI Depth: deep intuition for why models fail, gained from experience that predates the LLM boom
  • 10+ Years of Engineering Excellence: end-to-end ownership of large, business-critical systems
  • Strategic Architecture: experience formulating technical strategy at the organization or department level
  • The "Player-Coach" Standard: a track record of mentoring Staff and Principal engineers
  • Production AI at Scale: a proven track record of shipping AI-powered products to production

Nice to have:

  • Experience earlier in your career with model training, fine-tuning, classical machine learning, or natural language processing
  • A portfolio of real work (open-source, demos, writing, talks, or shipped side projects)
  • Experience building shared internal platforms or frameworks
  • Formal training in computer science (4-year CS degree or equivalent)
  • A strong bar for operational excellence: secure-by-default design, performance and cost discipline, testability, incident readiness
What we offer:
  • Offers Equity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Flexible PTO
  • Local retirement or savings plans (e.g., 401(k) in the U.S.)
