Job Description

Robert Half Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in Franklin County searching for an Sr. Accountant.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing the analysis and explanation of the plant performance, explaining all production variances on a monthly basis as well as participating in the proactive measures to reduce variances from standard cost
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly and quarterly analyses according to the financial closing calendar
  • Preparing and tracking CAPEX budget in comparison to actuals, along with disposal & cycle counts of assets
  • Preparing all account analysis (Flux file) & forecasting processes including the accuracy of standard costs, month end closing and any plant financial forecasts and projections
  • Reporting variances to manager and preparing reporting standards in a manner that plant management can understand and take corrective action
  • Reviewing journal entries, general ledgers, and other subsidiary financial ledgers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 3+ years plant/manufacturing experience with standard cost and inventory
  • ERP experience, MS Dynamics is a plus, intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in month-end closing processes and general ledger management
  • Strong skills in preparing and reviewing journal entries
  • Experience with account reconciliation and inventory reconciliation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to conduct annual physical inventory counts and ensure accuracy
  • Familiarity with KPI reporting to track and improve financial performance
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills to effectively collaborate with plant management
