Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys in the preparation of pending litigation actions, drafting pleadings, and responding to discovery demands
Manage extensive document production, coordinating information efficiently and accurately
Maintain comprehensive case files and manage legal matters with precision
Collaborate with management to facilitate document responses to discovery requests
Analyze documents, catalog exhibits, and perform thorough legal research
Conduct cite checks for briefs and prepare a variety of legal documents, including daily/weekly reports
Monitor cases and handle diverse tasks related to litigation and other legal areas
Initiate and maintain legal holds using specialized software
Apply in-depth knowledge of court deadlines, review relevant court and procedural rules, and manage calendaring deadlines
Maintain electronic document repositories and utilize document review platforms/software
Requirements:
Strong background in drafting discovery responses, discovery demands, and various types of motions
Extensive experience in insurance defense litigation and a deep understanding of practice within the state of New York
Proficiency in drafting good faith letters
Demonstrated court experience
Ability to handle reporting and PSC (Public Service Commission) related tasks
Expertise in Adobe for word processing, document editing, preparation, and redactions
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Proven ability to prepare and manage legal documents effectively
Experience with e-filing documents on various e-filing systems for state and federal agencies
Skill in drafting motions and affirmations
Must have New York working experience as a paralegal
Bachelor’s Degree
Nice to have:
Experience with case management software or related systems (training will be provided if not already exposed)
