Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. or Staff Accountant & Tax Preparer to join our client's team in Northfield, New Hampshire. In this role as a Tax/Staff Accountant, you will work directly with clients to handle their accounting needs, prepare tax returns, and provide strategic financial guidance. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations while helping clients optimize their financial outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage individual, corporate, and partnership tax return preparation while adhering to federal and state regulations
  • Process complex Tax returns
  • Maintain organized records of financial transactions and tax filings for accuracy and accessibility
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates, and address any inquiries
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve accounting workflows and enhance overall client service
  • Stay informed about updates to tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Assist clients with complex tax filings and resolve any issues related to their financial documentation
  • Provide guidance on the utilization of accounting and tax software to streamline processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred or willing to get your EA
  • Demonstrated experience in tax preparation and accounting, with expertise across various client types
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Drake, or UltraTax
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective client interactions
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with complex individual and corporate tax filings
