Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large, complex capital investment projects across the Americas. Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with Evonik standards, regulatory requirements, and Responsible Care principles. Serve as a senior technical authority and strategic partner to Business Segments, enabling competitive, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing assets.
Job Responsibility:
Define, organize, plan, direct, and execute major capital projects with high investment volume and complexity, including new sites and joint ventures
Develop the most economical project scope in collaboration with Business Segments and Project Responsible
Direct and approve engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and instructions with focus on safety, operability, and lowest life-cycle cost
Prepare and maintain full accountability for capital cost estimates across all project phases
Establish, manage, and lead large multidisciplinary project teams, including internal and external resources
Ensure full technical and managerial compliance with regulatory, corporate, and Responsible Care requirements
Direct front-end engineering documentation and Capital Appropriation Requests
Monitor, control, and report project performance related to cost, schedule, scope, earned value, and safety
Develop and implement execution, construction, and commissioning strategies with Site Management and HSE
Negotiate, authorize, and manage contracts in coordination with Legal and Procurement
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent (e.g., MBA) preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in chemical plant engineering, construction, and/or operations
PMP and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Proven track record delivering multiple large-scale chemical plant capital projects
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and capital project economics
Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineers and large multidisciplinary project teams
Ability to independently lead complex, high-value capital projects and manage diverse stakeholder groups
Excellent negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills
