Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Planner to join our team and drive excellence in material availability, production readiness, and supply chain optimization. In this role, you will oversee complex commodity planning activities, ensure alignment between supply and production requirements, and contribute to the efficiency, quality, and reliability of our manufacturing operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, maintain, and execute material requirements plans (MRP) to meet production schedules and customer demands, both manually (spreadsheets) and in an ERP environment
  • Analyze forecast data, production plans, and inventory levels to identify potential material shortages or excess
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure on-time delivery of critical components
  • Optimize inventory management strategies to balance cost, risk, and service levels
  • Manage complex supply chains with multiple stakeholders and long lead times
  • Generate and present reports on inventory, material availability, and planning status
  • Create purchase requisitions (PRs) in the system to support program procurement processes, based on specific commodities
  • Help develop best practices for material planning in both discrete and continuous production models
  • Create and manage dynamic material plans with multiple limiting factors, such as limited shelf life, lot/batch control, and restricted inventory storage capacity.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  • Proven experience in material planning, supply chain, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience managing complex supply chains and working with cross-functional teams.
