Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Plant Accountant to oversee the financial activities of a manufacturing plant and help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role will be responsible for plant-level accounting, month-end close, cost accounting support, budget tracking, inventory analysis, variance reporting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting experience, analytical skills, and the ability to partner with plant leadership to support operational and financial goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting functions for the manufacturing plant
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
  • Support cost accounting processes
  • Monitor inventory transactions and partner with operations on cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation of inventory balances
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for plant operations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and help drive efficiencies across accounting and plant finance function

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
  • Experience with plant accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and operations leaders
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing plant
