Job Description

This position is responsible for assuring quality in all phases of the manufacturing value stream from project quality planning to customers' utilization. Where nonconformance is identified, this position will lead the site to employ effective problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. As this role has both customer and supplier facing responsibilities, the incumbent must be skillful in communication, reporting, follow-up, and project management with a sense of urgency to resolve quality issues.

Job Responsibility

  • Assure quality in all phases of the manufacturing value stream from project quality planning to customers' utilization
  • Lead the site to employ effective problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage a plant or large area within a corporate function
  • Have budget responsibility for area or function
  • Be accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams
  • Implement functional plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities
  • Identify and resolve complex multi-dimensional business problems
  • Maintain an effective site Quality Management System (ISO9001, IATF16949)
  • Train and lead the site in establishing inspection sample plans and statistical process controls (SPC)

Requirements

  • 11-15 years of experience
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of inspection equipment and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
  • Understanding of internal and industry standards and principles
  • Skillful in communication, reporting, follow-up, and project management
  • Experience in Advanced Product Quality Plans (APQP), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Quality Control Plan development
  • Experience with statistical process controls (SPC)
  • Experience with ISO9001, IATF16949
  • Supervisory experience managing multiple teams
