We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Manager, Legal and Corporate Affairs to join a leading global company in the premium spirits and wine industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the legal and corporate affairs strategy for a key market in Asia Pacific.

Job Responsibility

  • Legal Compliance, Discipline & Empowering Organization: review contracts and work with external counsels
  • Ensure the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards in Japan and globally
  • Roll out Group's global compliance initiatives in Japan
  • Work with Internal Control Manager on Compliance Roadshows
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of necessary corporate documents
  • Manage legal disputes and litigation
  • Manage investigations and/or concerns raised by regulatory authorities
  • Identify legal risks and provide guidance to management
  • Protect and manage the company's intellectual property rights
  • Stay updated on changes in local laws and regulations
  • Manage relationships with external law firms and consultants
  • Advise on employment law matters
  • Assist in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions
  • Corporate Affairs: Engage with government agencies and regulatory bodies
  • Support and follow-up on industry lead lobbying initiatives
  • Maintain strong corporate image, strengthen relationship with Trade and country Chambers
  • Supporting MD and be the legal lead / liaison with respective key stakeholders to manage company crisis

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Law, Social Sciences or other relevant fields
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
  • Minimum 5 years experiences in FMCG or MNC in similar roles
  • Project management skills
  • Strong communication, key stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Autonomous with strong networking capability
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively work with internal stakeholders
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills, systematic thinking and practical mindset
  • Strong team player, service-oriented, and problem solver
