As a Sr. Channel Business Manager, you will report to the Channel Business Development Director. You will meet financial objectives through development, management, mentorship, contracts execution and promotion of relationships between company and indirect channels. Specifically, lead national Mentor Protege programs and Joint Ventures relationships between Grainger and Small Business proteges.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct business development activities to identify, develop, and grow strategic channel partner opportunities that drive incremental revenue, market expansion, and mutual value creation
Responsible for development, document and implement specific activities required by formal mentor protege or join venture agreements
Align our goals and facilitate barrier removal for indirect channels
Facilitate agreements, contracts, RFP responses and statements of work
Determine channel product and service capabilities and agreement to RFP's
Conduct high level business reviews and related processes with stakeholders in consideration of mentor protege arrangements
Communicate strategy and goals to field leaders while being liaison between cross-functional stakeholders and protege
Be a subject matter expert on Grainger's mentor protege efforts externally and internally, including being named as Grainger contact for small business officials, procurement directors and contracting offices
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
5+ year experience in sales, channel management or business development
Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement programs that address business issues and drives incremental revenue
Understand the organizational structure of indirect channels and their relationships to Grainger and leverage these relationships to maximum advantage of all parties
Deep understanding within the government marketplace, stakeholders and government policies
Demonstrate the ability to sell at multiple levels in organizations
Knowledge of Mentor Protege programs and customer contracting across a wide variety of customers
Ability to travel between 50-75%, on a nationwide basis
Major metro airport access to facilitate travel
