Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Legal Secretary to support a dynamic team of attorneys within a well-established litigation firm in Houston, Texas. This role combines the responsibilities of a litigation secretary and paralegal, offering an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills and significant experience in corporate litigation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to contribute immediately in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to 3–4 attorneys in a corporate litigation group
  • Draft, format, and finalize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
  • Manage electronic filing processes at both state and federal levels
  • Maintain and update litigation calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Accurately record billable hours for both personal time and attorney time
  • Assist with billable paralegal tasks, contributing to the firm's overall efficiency
  • Coordinate trial preparation efforts, including organizing exhibits and materials
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a team-oriented environment to achieve case objectives
  • Ensure compliance with legal procedures and firm standards
  • Adapt to shifting attorney assignments as needed while maintaining high-quality work

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general civil or corporate litigation, with at least 3 years of tenure per role
  • Expertise in state and federal electronic filing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple attorneys and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong background in corporate or complex litigation
  • personal injury experience is not applicable
  • Proven track record of longevity in previous positions, avoiding frequent job changes
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and managing billing processes
  • Ability to step into the role with minimal training and contribute immediately
  • Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and maintaining a positive work ethic
