Job Description

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Consultant to integrate with its internal IT team. This is a workforce enhancement engagement designed to supplement and upskill the client's internal team, address an active ticket backlog, and support ongoing enterprise infrastructure operations. In this client-embedded advisory role, you will provide expert-level technical support, troubleshooting, and strategic guidance across a complex enterprise network infrastructure. The existing environment encompasses a diverse mix of enterprise routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN solutions. You must be a true infrastructure generalist with deep hands-on execution skills and the communication acuity required to mentor internal teams. Engagement Type: Contract (3 Months Initial Term, with strong potential for extension) Hours: 40 hours per week (Must be available for off-hours and weekend maintenance windows as operational needs require) Location: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site at client premises in Winnipeg, MB, with travel within the province as required)

Job Responsibility

  • Tier-3 Ticket Ownership: Serve as the senior technical resource embedded within the IT team, taking full ownership of escalated infrastructure tickets related to wired switching, wireless networking, and SD-WAN
  • Multi-Platform Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network anomalies across mixed HPE/Aruba and Cisco wired/wireless environments, including cloud-managed infrastructure portfolios
  • Identity & Access Management: Administer and support enterprise AAA and identity-based access control platforms (Cisco ISE)
  • configure security policies, profile devices, and resolve complex authentication/authorization issues
  • SD-WAN Management: Support and manage the Silver Peak (HPE Aruba EdgeConnect) SD-WAN infrastructure, handling performance monitoring, path policy optimization, and incident resolution
  • Documentation & Topology: Produce and maintain comprehensive technical records, including network topology diagrams, runbooks, configuration baselines, and post-incident root-cause reports
  • Knowledge Transfer: Lead internal teams through critical incident troubleshooting, providing active mentorship to help build long-term internal capacity
  • Strategic Advisory: Advise management on configuration hardening, infrastructure design defects, and strategic scaling considerations for future network expansion

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience demonstrating comprehensive depth across both Cisco and HPE/Aruba ecosystems
  • Must hold at least one active, professional-level network validation credential—such as a CCNP or equivalent HPE/Aruba certification (ACCP / ACMP)
  • Proven expertise in enterprise switching platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, HPE/Aruba) and wireless infrastructure deployment, cloud infrastructure orchestration (Aruba Central), and RF policy management
  • Direct, hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ISE (posture, profiling) and Silver Peak SD-WAN orchestrators
  • Must be based in Winnipeg, MB, with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle access for occasional provincial travel
  • Must possess or be willing to immediately obtain a provincial police background clearance prior to start

Nice to have

  • CCIE certification (any track) is a massive asset and will be heavily weighted
  • Security-focused accreditations such as a CISSP or PCNSE
  • Prior IT infrastructure delivery experience within healthcare, provincial government, or crown corporations
  • Familiarity with wireless site survey software (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet)
  • Experience with network automation and monitoring tooling (Ansible, SolarWinds, PRTG)

What we offer

  • Reimbursed Travel: Explore the province with all operational travel expenses fully covered and reimbursed
  • Flexible Contract Fleet: Secure a strong initial contract with an immediate start and a clear path toward rolling long-term extensions
