Job Description:

Our trusted client is looking for an experienced Sr. Indirect Tax Accountant Consultant for a long-term engagement. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and has a strong background in tax preparation and compliance, particularly in sales and use tax filings. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate state registrations and exemption certificate management while reporting to the Indirect Tax Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in compliance with state regulations
  • Manage state registrations and ensure proper documentation is completed for tax purposes
  • Handle exemption certificates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws
  • Collaborate with the Indirect Tax Manager to address tax-related issues and provide accurate reporting
  • Review and analyze corporate and individual tax returns for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide guidance on tax preparation processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulations
  • Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely submission of all required filings
  • Utilize Vertex systems to support tax calculations and reporting
  • Conduct research on tax laws and updates to maintain compliance
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external agencies regarding tax-related matters

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations and filing processes
  • Proficiency in managing exemption certificates and state tax registrations
  • Familiarity with Vertex systems or similar tax software
  • Ability to analyze tax data and ensure compliance with relevant laws
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
