Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA. We are looking for a Senior Hardware Analysis Engineer specializing in aerodynamics and acoustics to design, simulate, and optimize airflow and acoustic performance across our humanoid’s cooling systems.
Job Responsibility:
Lead CFD simulations for all active cooling systems
Design and optimize fans, heat sinks and flow paths for maximum efficiency and acoustic quality
Perform aeroacoustic modeling and NVH analysis to minimize noise and vibration
Build and validate CFD models for steady-state and transient flow simulations, and correlate these models through wind tunnel, bench, and acoustic chamber testing to improve prediction accuracy
Requirements:
Expert knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer and acoustic
Extensive experience in fan design and optimization, including impeller geometry, ducting, and flow-path refinement
Expert in CFD modeling tools (Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent, or OpenFOAM)
Solid understanding of numerical modeling concepts
